God is bigger than your hurt, confusion and anger

Today Can Be Different Posted on September 22, 2020 by SherylSeptember 22, 2020

n the erratic times we live in, when emotions run rampant, do you ever wonder if you’re living with the right focus? I do. What does God require of us during these times?

When it seems the Enemy is gaining ground, what happens to our faith?

I used to picture God and the devil almost equal in size and power, though opposite in nature. I was so wrong.

Satan is not God’s counterpart.

In fact, Satan doesn’t compare to God in any area. Everything about God is huge. In comparison, anything regarding Satan is microscopic. How would it change our perspective if we kept our focus on this very point?

Think about it: God is huge and powerfully strong. The devil is tiny and pathetically weak. Compared to God, the devil is a mere flea.

God is so big and powerful that He created and governs heaven and earth.

Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. (Jeremiah 32:17 ESV).

We were created and are loved by a mighty, mighty God.

We can easily lose track of how big and powerful God is when we see the devil’s widespread devastation, including our own hurt, confusion and anger. But the devil is no match for God.

I won’t deny we live in scary times. And we’ll see more scary days. But I’m reassured to know that nothing can overwhelm our God.

When we put our trust in Christ, we have the strength to endure.

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency] (Philippians 4:13 AMPC).

Yes, Satan is real, but he is defeated. The destruction he causes is devastating, but God’s restorative power is far greater.

Don’t let the enemy and his destructive works become larger to you than God and His restorative power. Because … God is big.

He’s so much bigger than you can ever imagine. Even bigger than all your hurt, confusion and anger.

Practical Application:
In the world we live in, are you convinced God is bigger than the devil?
What about in your specific circumstances?
If you’re not sure, what changes do you have to make in your thinking – and in your prayer life?

Begin Your Journey to Stability (In recognition of last month’s Mental Health Awareness Month)

Today Can Be Different Posted on June 3, 2020 by SherylJune 3, 2020

Even if you think it won’t work because you’ve tried it before, risk trusting God’s love for you, one more time. If necessary, call someone who has a close relationship with God and ask them to pray with you and help you find God’s rest.
