A Fun Way To Hide God’s Word In Your Heart — 10 Comments

  1. I am in a Bible study group, and we try to bring a memorized verse each week. We tell why we felt drawn to it, and we are edifying each other with this weekly effort.

    • Wow! Well done, Janice and your Bible study group!!
I would love to hear from several of your group about what doing that means to them. Would they be willing to leave a comment here? Others could benefit from what they have to say!! (No pressure, of course.)

      • I don’t think they have time to engage right now as all are very busy people and not online as much as I am. But it is an interesting thought. I am the one who has kept this Bible memory verse effort going in the group. We put no pressure on anyone to do it, and some don’t memorize but find a verse that has meaning to them.

  2. When I was an AWANA (Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed Of The Gospel Of Christ) leader, we had the children memorize scripture, and sometimes we sang verses together and those were the ones I remembered the most! Here’s one…”Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6. I memorized three verses right along with the kids! I’ll be honest, it’s difficult to remember all the references, but I do remember those verses the best! Thanks for reminding and spurring us on to continue memorization, Sheryl! I’ve been concentrating so much more on this lately! ✝️

    • I have trouble remembering the references too, Kim.
Thank you for sharing my devotion on POTSy Praise FB page.
(We continue to pray for you, dear friend.)

  3. I’ve been learning about verse mapping. You can be as creative as you want to be, or simple and straight to the facts.
Sharing the verse you map could inspire and encourage memorization.
I’ve also heard that writing out the verse we want to memorize helps our brain remember it.
But fellowship over specific verses is the most fun!

    • Hello, Helen! Welcome to Today Can Be Different! It’s true for me that when I write out a verse, I remember it more easily. I actually write out a verse several days in a row because my “old” brain needs extra help. 🙂
