Are You A Secretly Depressed Christian? — 7 Comments

  1. As a member of the Body of Christ, what steps can we take to be more effective for our brothers and sisters who struggle with depression and/or suicidal thoughts?

  2. If you (or someone you know) are struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts, would you be willing to join in the discussion on how the church can be more supportive?

  3. I can so relate because I was also a born again Christian who suffered from clinical depression and was very suicidal from the age of 17 to in my 30s or beyond. The Lord found a way for me to learn what triggered it and through much soul searching, a good therapist and a lot of prayers.
    This message really hit home.

    • Hi, Sandra. I’m so sorry you also suffered from major depression, but thankful God delivered you from it.
      Praise God!
And thank you for letting me know my post “hit home.” May God use both of our journeys for His glory and purposes.

  4. I had friends who reminded me God would never give up on me. That He still had a purpose for me, as Psalm 138:8 (ESV) says: The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.

    • Indeed! I thank God for these friends – and all God did for me during that dark season.
(Always nice to see you, Sandra.)
