A Tribute to Pastors
Dear Pastor,
We appreciate you – a lot. Aside from your family, we’re your biggest fans.
We know that being our pastor isn’t always easy. Your hours far exceed those of a 9-to-5 job – and sometimes we can be a handful. Your commitment to God’s calling shows you want to be a good representative of the God you preach about.
We’re grateful for how you deepen our hunger for God’s Word and admonish us to honor Christ in all we do. You encourage us to reach our full potential by serving Him in our homes and communities. Your weekly messages challenge us not to let life’s distractions keep us from God’s purposes.
Most of all, we’re eternally thankful for all the times you remind us that God loves us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins.
We can’t thank you enough for the many hours you’ve spent reading and researching Scripture, praying for clarity. You’ve persevered, prayed through and taught us the hard verses. We admire you for not backing down from teaching “unpopular” verses and doctrine, even when they’re politically incorrect.
We appreciate the sacrifices you and your wife make for us. For selflessly putting others’ needs ahead of your own. For being available and approachable. For representing Christ well.
Your years-long dedication clearly shows how much you want to be there for us, even when you can’t. We understand your schedule and human limitations. We know that, whether present or absent, you bring our needs to our powerful and ever-present God in prayer.
You and your wife are important to us and our community. We’re praying for you as you continue to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14 ESV). Please let us know how else we can pray for you and your family.
Thank you, Pastor, for your never-ending service as a truly dedicated servant of the Gospel.
With much love,
Your biggest fans

This Pastor Appreciation Month – and every month thereafter – I encourage you to make it clear to your pastor and his wife how much you appreciate them and how their faithfulness to God is a source of encouragement to you. Send a note, treat them to a dinner, or speak your appreciation in person.
A side note: To the pastors who are retired or who had to make the difficult decision to leave your church, we thank you for your years of service to your congregation and community. We’re praying for God’s continued grace in your life.

We’re praying for you, Pastor, as you continue to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14 ESV). Please let us know how else we can pray for you and your family.
What a wonderful devotion and love letter to our pastors and their wives for all they do for the body of Christ! Thank you, Lord for all you do through our pastors for us! “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. / Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2. “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.” Ephesians 4:13. “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12. “encouraging you, comforting you, and urging you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.” 1 Thessalonians 2:12. “It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.” 1 Corinthians 1:30. “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” Luke 16:16. Thanks for showing appreciation and example to love our pastors well, Sheryl! ✝️
Amen! I can only imagine the weight our pastors and their wives carry as they pray and serve their communities, Kim.
A wonderful message.
Even though I live in Central Greece, I’m fortunate to be part of a very small Greek Evangelical Bible Church in Larisa. The pastor is such a wonderful man of God.
Pastor George’s wife is very involved in the church. I’ve had coffee several times with her and another parishioner at a café in Larisa.
What a blessing they have been in my life.
Wonderful!! I love hearing tributes like these, Sandra.
God bless Pastor George and his wife! (Please tell them hello for me. 😉 )
