We can also ask God to show us what gifts we can give Him, like repenting for harboring an unforgiving heart toward others or clinging to a dispiriting attitude about our circumstances. Then we can watch to see how our Redeemer transforms these “gifts” as only He can.

Rather than allowing our thoughts to be consumed with what we’ll be getting for Christmas, what if we took deliberate steps to get to know Jesus and the wonders of His person? Who He is. The way He thinks. His marvelous ways. What if we took the time (and made the effort) to truly discover what Christmas is all about?
