These “forgotten fathers” often bottle up their emotions, including grief, depression, anger and guilt – all of which can escalate to self-destructive behavior if they don’t seek counseling.

Going it alone is so much more difficult. We need someone in our corner who’s praying and encouraging us to choose God-honoring behavior.

Let’s invite Him to renew a right spirit within us, especially if we’re already developing a seared conscience. And most importantly, let’s give Him permission to reveal the lies we tell ourselves when we justify our actions.
